BECOMING A DISCIPLE

“Go and Teach and Disciple All Nations”

Matthew 28:18–20

And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, “All power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth.”

• Go therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost;
• Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you;
• And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

From this passage of God’s Word, our Lord Jesus Christ reconfirms that all authority in heaven and on earth has been given unto Him. He then commissions us to teach, empower, baptize, and disciple others to become like Him and represent Him on earth.

From the foregoing passage of God’s word, our Lord Jesus Christ reconfirms that all power in heaven and on earth has been given to Him, and charged us to go into in the world to implement these two assignment; teach (train, impart knowledge and empower others, and baptize (and on board them to become like Himself and His disciples) to represent Him here on earth. He reassured us that He is with us always till the end of the world, but reminded us that there is an end to this world.

In view of these, we are to make hay while sunshine and also remind others and keep them in view of the promises and the kingdom our Lord Jesus introduced and ushered us to.

In other words, we are on a mission to teach, empower, and baptize all men in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and disciple them into his fold, to become our friends and friends of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

We are to rest assured in His word; Greater love has no man than this that a man laid down his Friends. Hitherto, I call you not servants for the servant knows not what his master does but I call you friends for all I have heard of my father I have made known unto you. Glory Hallelujah to our Lord, can you imagine that.
